COVID-19 Pandemic

We are all facing unprecedented times, and at the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, we are monitoring the situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Our priority is the safety of our team, attendees and members of the RACA and Adopt A School. While operating in line with government advice on the coronavirus we will communicate any changes via our website and social media.

As a result, we have taken the decision to postpone a number of meetings and fundraising activities or instead hold video and phone conferencing. We are reviewing all of our upcoming events including the Annual Awards of Excellence. Therefore we are taking the unprecedented decision of postponing the Semi-Finals on the 28th March for Service and the Kitchen & Pastry Semi-Finals on the 8th April. All future dates will be reviewed.

We are going to continue to monitor the situation week by week and we very much hope that we will be able to pick up the competition again before the autumn – if not before...

We will endeavour to make sure that the government supports the hospitality industry for its losses which will affect us all for some time to come. In the meantime, we are very aware of the issues which all of you are facing at the moment and we hope as a membership organisation we can raise the community’s spirits in some small way. We would like to share our members’ experiences via email and social media, so please get in touch with your stories of how you are tackling the daily challenges to keep things going.
